It seemed almost as though the world was too small for Barbara. Polish roots, raised in Hungary, fluent in 5 languages and a passionate dancer. Where to go with so much power, ambition and engaging curiosity? In March 2017, that became obvious: LKW WALTER

"To get ahead, you must always give your best", says Barbara smiling to herself, as she thinks about her passion for Latin American dance. Since moving to the "LKW WALTER dance floor" after completing her university studies, the World Cup participant in Formation Dancing lives this motto professionally too. "Like dancing, things often get pretty heated here too. When that happens you have to keep in time, keep pace and improvise with a cool head instead of spinning out of control."

Barbara knows what she's talking about. Because she has been responsible for many countries. Greece, Poland and Italy, for example. Which is why she concludes, with a smile on her face: "I am gaining a huge amount of experience. No two days are the same. That's why my work as a Transport Manager is not only interesting, but also very exciting."

Note: Congratulations to Barbara on being promoted to Division Manager! According to the motto "recruiting executive managers from within our own ranks" Barbara became manager of her team in September 2022.

What career opportunities do I have as a secondary school graduate or university / university of applied sciences graduate?

Very good ones! In the WALTER GROUP you have every opportunity to start your career. If you come from an educational institute with an economic, linguistic or even technical focus, you can immediately and directly join our business. You can join without industry knowledge in the context of an intensive trainee programme which we call "Train the Winner".

Accompanied by your own coach, you will improve your professional and social skills and continuously grow into your future roles. Because the WALTER GROUP is constantly and sustainably growing, new career opportunities always arise.

What career opportunities do I have as an experienced professional?

Generally professional experience or industry knowledge are not necessary for entry into our operational business. Because we educate new employees as part of our "Train the Winner" trainee programme and we cover both theory and practice. However, there are some areas in which we greatly appreciate relevant experience and previous knowledge. For example, in our IT, Legal or Sales departments, where we can offer (young) professionals attractive career opportunities. Our recommendation: Just take a look at our employment opportunities.

Does the WALTER GROUP offer apprenticeships?

The classic apprenticeships such as freight forwarding manager or office clerk are not offered in our company.

What does the application process involve?

In our employment opportunities each advert has a link that takes you to the online application form. Please fill it out and send it together with your application documents. Immediately afterwards, you will receive an e-mail. It confirms that we have received your application. Then it takes a maximum of 14 days for you to recieve a message from us about the result of your application. If it is positive, the next steps are:

First "getting to know you" interview by phone or Skype.
Face to face interview with one of our recruiters.
Possible second appointment with the head of a specialist department for certain specific positions.
