"it's what I have always wanted to do."

Matthias L., Innovations Manager – the first of his kind

Matthias L.

WALTER GROUP's innovations pave the way for a sustainable and successful future. Matthias is leading the way. As first ever Innovations Manager in our Group he makes sure that we not only keep up with the times but always stay one step ahead.

If you were to ask Matthias what his hobbies are, he would reply, "modern technology!" As an Early Adopter he has an intense personal interest in modern technologies and a sixth sense for recognising and implementing innovations. Which is why he is pursuing an exciting career path in the WALTER GROUP, transitioning first from Transport Manager to Group Division Manager and now to our first-ever Innovations Manager: "it's what I have always wanted to do."

This essentially means that he is in charge of everything new. "Optimising processes is just as much a part of my job as developing new business models and implementing digital technologies." With such an abundance of projects within the WALTER GROUP, it is already becoming clear that the post of Innovations Manager is here to stay well into the future.

„If you have good ideas and are open to new things, then WALTER GROUP is just the place for you!“

Matthias' personal tip:

The WALTER GROUP offers young lateral thinkers who like to think outside the box the space to develop innovative ideas and to initiate change. If you have good ideas and are open to new things, then WALTER GROUP is just the place for you!

Frequently asked questions and answers

Based on the legal regulations we work 40 hours per week. Our working day starts at 8:00 am. We don't work night shifts and, of course, we enjoy our free time at the weekend. As a full-time employee you are entitled to 5 weeks holiday annually. Over and above you get 40 additional hours of spare time from the WALTER GROUP as well as the opportunity to work from home as compensation for when you have to work longer.
In addition to public transport, we provide a free shuttle bus service for our Wiener Neudorf employees between Vienna and Wiener Neudorf. The Kufstein site is very central and is perfectly reachable by public transport (bus or train). Those who travel by car can use our free parking spaces (car parks) at both sites.

Performance is a very central aspect in the WALTER GROUP. At the same time, balance, health and a family-like working atmosphere are all very important to us.

  • For a good work-life balance we support sport activities such as beach volleyball, football, running, skiing, tennis and spinning.
  • We promote the health of our employees through non-smoking offices, low-radiation monitors, an optimum indoor climate, large relaxation areas (meeting points and WALTER Park), a doctor who can provide vaccinations in house, and much more.
  • As a family business we attach great importance to a good working atmosphere and a strong team spirit, supported by a strong sense of "we-feeling".
That depends on whether you work in Kufstein or Wiener Neudorf. If the latter, you can enjoy a low-cost staff restaurant with 5 daily menus to choose from. In Kufstein, you can eat in selected restaurants - financially supported by the WALTER GROUP.
