Salary and social insurance
Working in Austria is worthwhile. Statutory labour agreements guarantee a certain wage level, which the WALTER GROUP exceeds. At the same time, you are automatically registered for social security.
Expect 14 salary payments!
Although the year only has 12 months in Austria as well, we pay 14 salary payments, which are distributed in June and November. This is in addition to many other provisions in the so-called Kollektivvertrag, which forms the legal basis for your employment.

Automatically registered for social security!
From the first day of your employment, you are automatically registered for social security. In Austria, compulsory insurance covers the following areas:
- Health insurance
- Accident insurance
- Pension insurance
- Unemployment insurance
Social security covers all important benefits. Of course, you also have the opportunity to have private insurance.
It's also practical that you don't have to take care of registration formalities or the payment of insurance premiums. We do that for you, as well as the deduction of income tax.
Working hours, holidays and public holidays
The normal weekly working hours are 38.5 hours per week.
Monday to Friday from 8am until 5.00pm
Friday 8am until 2.15pm
These times include 45 min for lunch.
By using our flexitime you can shift your working hours and start between 7 and 9 a.m. and end your working day earlier or later accordingly.
25 days of annual leave and 13 public holidays
In Austria, you have a statutory right to 25 days of annual leave. If you work part-time, your entitlement will be calculated aliquot. Irrespective of this you can enjoy 13 statutory public holidays per year.

Austria is internationally known for its high level of social security. The statutory health insurance is a good example of this.
Health insurance for relatives
The health insurance covers all treatments by doctors and hospitals without additional payments. Even for your family members. Presenting the "electronic health insurance card (E-card) to the doctor is all it takes. It is also possible to take out additional private insurance.
Generous maternity leave provision for mothers
Mothers have it good in Austria. Because they enjoy the so-called maternity protection eight weeks before and eight weeks after the birth of their child. Thereafter, the mother and/or father is/are entitled to parental leave until the 2nd birthday of the offspring. Also important: during the periods of maternity protection and parental leave, you are protected by labour law against dismissal or redundancy!

Central location and transport
Both Vienna and Kufstein are geographically located at the heart of Europe. While Kufstein boasts proximity to Germany, Italy, Switzerland as well as Munich Airport, Wiener Neudorf is located on the edge of the metropolis of Vienna, in the immediate vicinity of other major cities such as Bratislava, Budapest or Prague.
Even in the cities themselves, you are very well connected. Whether by car or by public transport, which works very well in both cases.
House hunting made easy
Depending on the location, the housing supply and prices differ at our two sites. Both have their own advantages:
If you live in Kufstein, you are more likely to travel to work on foot, surrounded by fresh air and with a view of the wonderful mountains. If you decide to live outside the city, you benefit from perfect public transport connections and the proximity of our location to the train station.
If you work in Wiener Neudorf, we would recommend Vienna as your first place of residence. There are two reasons for this: Firstly, because our company bus will get you from Vienna to work in just 30 minutes. Secondly, because you immediately get to know and appreciate the advantages of the cosmopolitan city of Vienna.

Kufstein
In the middle of the Tyrolean mountains, Kufstein is a hotspot for skiers and snowboarders in winter. In summer, it transforms into a hiking paradise and at night into a place that doesn't sleep for a surprisingly long time. In addition, Kufstein and the state capital Innsbruck, which is only 70 kilometres away, offer numerous cultural events.

Will my travel expenses be reimbursed?
For us, that goes without saying. If you have successfully completed step 1 of the application process (telephone or Skype interview), we will invite you to Wiener Neudorf or Kufstein, at our expense, for a face to face interview.
Do I need a work permit for Austria?
No, if you are a citizen of an EEA country. Yes, if you come from a third country. In this case, you need a residence permit as well as the work permit. Of course, we are happy to help you with submitting the application.

How can I apply for a company apartment?
Of course, we can't guarantee you an apartment, but we are happy to help you in your search. We work together with reliable landlords and housing providers in the region, so that you are highly likely to be able to directly and easily move into your start apartment.
How can I travel to my workplace?
In addition to public transport, we provide a free shuttle bus service for our Wiener Neudorf employees between Vienna and Wiener Neudorf. The Kufstein site is very central and is perfectly reachable by public transport (bus or train). Those who travel by car can use our free parking spaces (car parks) at both sites.
